…and while my letters from Paris are just starting, time marches on at its steady pace. Life goes on, inevitably and invariably, whether or not we’re ready to go on with it. It still feels like yesterday that we were waking up to fresh pain au chocolat and planning our museum visits for the day in Paris. But meanwhile, I am officially on my seventh day back in the office. Work, like life, goes on. Faster even, somehow. I barely feel like I’ve got up on what I missed and still, the hours and days keep charging ahead, with projects stacking up, my to-do list constantly growing and deadlines looming closer all the time.
It’s work that allows, in theory, for things like the recent trip to Paris to happen. It’s because of Paris that I so rarely question if all the pressure and anxiety are worth it. But it’s usually in these first weeks back after time away that those questions do float through my exhausted mind. It seems to take so much less time to become exhausted while working than it does to reenergise during time off. I don’t have any actual data to support that, which I would need to present to make this argument at work, but that’s definitely how it feels to me. Six full working days and I’m as tired as I was before I left. But life goes on. So I do, too.
After all, there’s always the prospet of another trip to Paris on the horizon… I’m not making any official plans just yet, but the temptation is very real, indeed.
Your silky skirt is amazing !

I really love that dress – the blush colour is gorgeous. And something tells me you’ll be hopping on a plane again before you know it.
