This is just another summer outfit – specifically, one I wore on a July afternoon for cocktails at The Roost, one of our favourite local restaurants. They have the cutest rooftop patio and serve the most unconventionally fabulous cocktails I’ve ever encountered. I don’t even normally like cocktails, but at The Roost, they’re special.
This summer outfit, on the other hand, isn’t particularly special. It’s just a set of clothes I put on to feel cute but still comfortable on an incredibly hot day. And you know – that’s life. It’s not an aspect of life I’ve always loved accepting, but it’s reality no matter how I feel about it. I think that I want drama and glamour and a constant stream of fabulous outfits for equally fabulous occasions. But also sometimes it’s hot and I just want to sip a cold drink while sitting under an umbrella. There’s no reason to overthink, or overdress, on a day like that.
Oooh, love a fab cocktail place & I remember your stories from The Roost – what a lovely day!! Would love to visit The Roost with you guys one day!! As for cocktails? I’m also not normally a big fan, but always LOVE the cocktails at both The Botanist and Kissa Tanto. And love your summer outfit, simple, but super pretty, and love how you look in warm colours.
