But sometimes, one comes along that is so special, I just can’t help it. Maris Pearl Co. is absolutely one of those brands. At this point, I think I own almost every piece from their collection.

I was in the early stages of my now longstanding pearl obsession when I stumbled upon a beautifully light and bright Instagram feed featuring pearls, pearls and more pearls. It took no time – I was immediately hooked. The truth is, I’ve always loved pearls. But I don’t love how old-fashioned they so often look, particularly when worn in long ropes or on short chains. Maris Pearl Co.’s collections pulled me in because they are modern and raw, effortless and elegant but utterly unfussy.

Briefly, I’m obsessed. It’s been more than a year, and my love for the brand is a strong as it was on day one.

Born in Hawaii, Maris Pearl Co. focusses on creating timeless jewelry using freshwater pearls. Not only do I love the designs and the versatility of each piece – I’ve worn my pearls in every season, in cities all over the world, with all kinds of outfits. I also love their focus on ethical sourcing and sustainability. When you consider the quality, the price point is exceptional. And, five percent of all sales go to the Athens-based NGO Aegean Rebreath, a charity dedicated to Mediterranean Sea conversation intiatives. Although the pearls com from the United States, they always remind me of my time in Greece when I put them on.

My wardrobe these days is bursting with pearls. A pearl handbag, pearl-emblazoned ankle boots, a pearl headband… and the list goes on. But my favourite pearls come from Maris Pearl Co. They’ve been with me on some of my most memorable adventures. And when we can travel again, I look forward to seeing more of the world with them on. (And taking them back to Greece, too, of course. I can just picture pairing them with a white dress for a day of wandering around Santorini.)

If you love pearls, or know someone who does, I can’t recommend Maris Pearl Co. highly enough.
