Current mood: It’s finally here!
February is the month I’ve been waiting for – it took thirty-one long days, but we made it. And while it’s only the first of the month, my calendar is already packed. Admittedly, a lot of the engagements are fairly mundane. (After Topher’s birthday celebration this weekend, that is – the wine is already chilling and I am so ready for our little party.) I fly to Toronto on Monday for the first of what will undoubtedly be many business trips this year. And when I get back, it’s mostly a series of necessary appointments, like the dentist and my eyebrow guy. But it’s all for a good cause because February is the month we go to Paris!
That’s right – our long-awaited return to the French capital is, as of this morning, just twenty-one short days away. I made my peace with not visiting last year. Staying away from Paris was a necessary evil in 2018. I simply cannot control my desire to acquire beautiful things when I visit. And, more importantly, I don’t think I should have to. Most years, that’s fine. A week of buying everything in Paris is something I can recover from in a few pay cheques. But last year, we needed to focus our spending on some more humble but ultimately satisfying projects, like making over our extremely dated 1960s kitchen and adding more furniture to our rather sparse apartment. I made my peace, but I was less than thrilled. I’ve been anxiously waiting to get back to Paris since we left in 2017 and finally, the big day is almost here.
Since it’s only twenty-eight days long, February is always one of those months that is over almost before you’ve noticed it’s begun. But this year, I know it will go by even more quickly than usual, because the best times always do. And despite the still very chilly weather, February is going to be a good month.
What excitement does February hold for you, my friends?
I’m basically focused on just getting through February. The weather is bleak, winter driving in all this snow has me stressed, and it’s by way the busiest and most anxiety-inducing month at my office. So my focus for the month is basically just on coping at work and then indulging myself at home with lots of evening glasses of wine and trashy TV (which I love).

Doesn’t it feel sooo good when your home is done?! I feel like our finances are finally freed up from our recent over-haul and it’s the perfect way to start off 2019. We’re saving more than ever, and my closet will be feeling the love soon too. LOL! 😉 AND happy Feb 1st, I too have been adding to our calendar and can’t wait to get this month rolling!! TGIF, my friend!! xo

It’s always wonderful to have a trip to look forward to, and I know you always feel most at home in Paris, so I’m sure your excitement is palpable.
This month I’m hoping to get some good blog content, or better blog content? Just something that feels more special. Maybe focus on what I want to do in LA before I find myself on a plane back home!

Honestly this month I have nothing to look forward to.
But your trip to Paris sounds exciting .
