Arguably, two of my favourite things about Paris – and my list of favourite things about Paris is exceptionally long, as you might imagine – are the magnificent buildings and the galleries that so often hide within them. When we last lived in Paris, we had an apartment on tiny rue Saint-Sebastian, just steps from rue de Turenne, which is the path to le Marais. At the time, rue de Turenne was home to a glorious door, tall, ornate and painted a glossy shade of vibrant red. In the year we were here, I walked down rue de Turenne and never once saw it open, which made me wonder all the more what might hide behind it. Imagine my surprise, then, when I discovered the gorgeous courtyard of Galerie Perrotin (via an instagram photo, of course…!) and, a short internet search later, realized it was just steps from where we used to live. How could I have possibly not known? I asked myself, knowing I had walked the streets of our neighbourhood day after day, until I knew every cobblestone and courtyard. The answer to that question turned out to be very simple – while we lived in Paris, the beautiful red door on rue de Turenne hid the courtyard and building that would later become Galerie Perrotin. The gallery opened quite recently and became a firm favourite for me on our first visit a few weeks ago, in no small part thanks to the fact that they are currently showing a Pieter Vermeersch exhibit featuring elaborate works in marble and pastel paint. (What can I say? I know what I like.) Speaking of favourites, can we talk about this jumpsuit? I can honestly say I never thought I would get on the jumpsuit bandwagon, which just goes to show that you should never say never, especially in fashion, because this LPA beauty, from my favourite shopping destination, REVOLVE, is pretty much the best thing in my wardrobe right now – it’s so easy just to throw on and go, which is perfect, because on vacation, I have so many more important things to do than worry about what I want to wear!
You are killing it in that jumpsuit – seriously, you look gorgeous. I feel like the universe will just swallow me whole if I ever even try to don one myself so I love getting to see how amazingly you pull it off!

Isn’t it amazing what lies right in front of our nose and we don’t even realise. I haven’t been back to Paris in years but I remember passing all those glorious doorways and imagining the most resplendent courtyards and interiors behind them. What I’d give for a peek or wander!

The jumpsuit is a beauty – it’s simple, yet dramatic, and I can’t help but wonder how it would look with sneakers.
I’m glad that Paris is still full of secrets, surprises and beauty. I hope much more of that unfolds during your stay.
