That I read a lot of blogs will come as a surprise to no one – I read a lot of everything, from books to newspapers to road signs; if there are printed words in my vicinity, chances are that I will read and absorb them, often without thinking. Some of my favourite blogs do wonderful Life, Lately posts where the authors succinctly sum up the things that have been happening in their offline lives. I admire those bloggers and their tight, tidy writing, but I can’t imagine imitating their style. I think in paragraphs, not bullet points; every subject I touched on in a list would quickly become enough written material for an entire blog post. So how can I summarise what I’ve been up to lately? To be honest, I’m not sure. Things have been hectic, but not in the way I usually mean when I say things have been hectic because I’ve missed by morning yogurt break two days in a row at work; this has been I-lost-my-favourite-Celine-sunglasses-and-didn’t-have-time-to-miss-them-for-a-full-month hectic. Some days, I find just enough time to ask myself how I think I’m going to manage to get everything done in the amount of time that I have – because the truth is, the fact that I am this busy is largely self-inflicted; there are just so many things I want to do and I haven’t found a spare moment to figure out how to extend my days beyond twenty-four hours. Other days, I think I am waking up to Tuesday only to find that it’s Thursday and half a week has flown by almost without my noticing. I want to tell you all about all of it – about why half my life is packed in cardboard boxes once again, why things I planned to do a few years down the road suddenly felt like they couldn’t be put off for another moment. But I also want the timing and the words to be right, and when I am writing these words after three o’clock while just starting my lunch, in between workday tasks and telephone calls, I know that it isn’t. And so, for today, suffice it to say that I have been busy for all of the best reasons and as soon as I have five minutes to focus on just the blank blog post in front of me, I will tell you all about it.

Being really busy is never quite as onerous when you know you’re really busy for all the right reasons – I personally can’t wait to hear about all the things you have on the go (you know, once you actually get some time to write about them all!).

  2. Can’t wait to hear all about it!! And I’m so excited for your next chapter, plus our skype wine dates! I’m holding you to it!! 😉 As for being busy?! Life has been wonderfully slow for Martin & I and it’s just what we need at this stage of our lives… because our last 20 (yikes!)… have been nothing but bustling! And as always, you’re looking absolutely fabulous, love every detail of this outfit! xo

Ahh I definitely understand – I feel like life for everyone is so hectic right now, and there’s so much going on and so much in the world to think about, that you can accidentally forget about yourself sometimes. I’m going through the , same thing as well, where I have no idea where the weeks are going.

One of these days I’m going to steal your hat collection.
In all things I crave balance. I enjoy those periods of being super busy and feeling very productive just as much as I enjoy having an evening with nothing to do but eat ice cream and watch movies.

I’m happy to hear that you’ve got some changes you are excited about, and can’t wait for you to share them!
And I’m very sorry to hear you’ve lost your sunglasses!
