And so, here we are, on the second last day of January, and I realize that I haven’t bought a single piece of clothing in 2017. This wasn’t intentional at all. While I can certainly acknowledge that my approach to dressing is becoming more and more minimalistic as time passes, the list of things I want to add to my wardrobe never seems to be any shorter. So how can I explain my suddenly disciplined approach to shopping? I’m not sure, to be honest – the secret may simply be in not giving it too much thought. I’ve been quite content to stick with the basics through this month; my Grlfrnd Karolina jeans have been in high rotation, both the blue pair and the white pair I’m wearing in these photos, which were one of the last things I acquired in 2016. When you’re in the right frame of mind, there really is something inspiring about taking the pieces that you already have and creating new looks with them. But with that said, I admit that my good behaviour isn’t likely to last too much longer…! Have you done much shopping so far this year?
J’adore tes chaussures ! ♥
I’ve been fairly well behaved this year – I’m trying to make a really concerted effort to focus on rethinking pieces I currently have and it’s been working so far. But I also know I’m likely a week or two away from having one of this “ugh, I hate all these shirts” mornings and wanting to get something new. But I’m hoping I can maintain my focus.

Interestingly… my shopping behaviour has been the same for months & months now, every couple of months or so I buy a piece or two and that’s about it. I’m very slow to commit, typically pin for hours and most months buy nothing. Haha! But yet, I still keep coming up with outfits, so that’s good! 😉 And speaking of outfits?! Love yours and those jeans are gorgeous in white + are perfect with your strappy heels!! xo
Cee, I love that blanket scarf layered over that leather jacket. Beautiful mix of textures in this outfit. I love black & white ensembles. When you buy quality pieces, it surely makes a difference and you don’t have to buy as much.

I swear I left a comment here yesterday but it doesn’t seem to have made it through! I won’t try to recreate it exactly (that never seems to work, really, for me) but I remember it was along the lines of noting that I feel like I’ve been doing pretty good thus far this year in terms of focusing on things already in my closet as opposed to acquiring new pieces – the notable exception being a few additions purchased with Christmas gift cards!

Well you know by sheer force of will I’ve kept my shopping at bay for the last month, and honestly, I’m think before I start shopping again I need to take inventory and be honest about what I’m still holding on to and why. I know the goal has always been to have a closet full of things that I both love AND wear, so why should it be so hard?
I love these white jeans, and your leather jacket, and I’m feeling like this is a look I need to replicate!
