Queen Elizabeth Park is, to be fair, a very long way from the part of Vancouver where I live. But I’ve lived in Vancouver for the better part of ten years, which has given me ample time to trek all over the city – I’m not sure what kept me away for so long, but I’m glad I finally made the effort to visit the garden a few weeks ago – it was just as spectacular as I had always been told, practically a succulent heaven if you’re obsessed with them like I am. And what a beautiful spot to pause for a few outfit photos, there were some quiet corners where the city outside the park became totally invisible, which made it feel like taking a walk in a fairytale kingdom, complete with idyllic foot bridges and babbling brooks. It really is true, no matter how long you live somewhere and how well you think you know it, there is always something new to discover!
It’s always neat to re-discover areas that are so close to home — also, I swear this is the first time I’ve seen you in flats, they’re really cute.

Can’t believe I haven’t been! It looks the perfect way to escape the city and definitely a gorgeous spot for outfit photos! And… I LOVE those flats! How darling are they?! The jewel detail is especially charming! xo

An afternoon in a garden sounds like a delight, and I can relate to the idea of a place that isn’t *that* far from where you live, and could be very lovely, but you just never manage to get there. This trip looks like it was well worth it, and no better place for outfit photos. You know I love every little white dress I see.
After returning home from CA I had my heart set on having a succulent garden. I was so used to seeing them inside little glass boxes that I never even realized they could be outside. Of course I don’t have the greenest of thumbs and the one succulent I got rotted and I got discouraged. Maybe next spring?
