Every time I take outfit photos with a coat, I hope it will be the last set of outfit photos featuring a coat for the season. And every time we take those photos, after a few brief days of sunshine and blue skies, the grey clouds and rain descend again. I made a promise to myself years ago not to dwell on bad weather in my blog posts – after all, I live in the Pacific Northwest, what exactly do I expect? It rains here. A lot. And the truth is, I love a good coat. But after months of wearing one every single day, even my extensive collection starts to feel a bit tired. Worse still is the fact that for the past two weeks, I’ve been living with just four coats, the rest of them packed away in moving boxes. But we moved into our new place yesterday and all of the clothes that I’ve been separated from are starting to get unpacked, so my outfit possibilities have seemingly tripled over night (without me doing any actual shopping!) There is no doubt that I will be posting many more outfits featuring coats over the next few months while the weather remains unpredictable – I already have my favourite coat ready to go with us to Europe, but somehow, wearing them there seems like less of a chore than wearing them at home. After all, what doesn’t looks more stylish against a European backdrop? Nothing, as far as I’m concerned.
