Time flies when you’re having fun – and/or working like a maniac. It feels like just yesterday that I got together with Lyndi, Aleesha, Trina, Oz and Tarah for our first event of the holiday season – a glittery and oh-so-glamourous blogger brunch. Life always seems a little more fun when everything is fancy – at least to me. I had a ball getting all dolled up on a Saturday morning to be part of creating this winter wonderland. We may not have snow outside, but we had all kinds of beautiful white things inside! Full disclosure: Christmas at my apartment will not look like this. Not even a little. (Although I have to admit that based on the number of presents sitting under our tree as I type this, we’ve been seriously spoiled this year.) Since Ian is a chef, he will be cooking Christmas dinner for other families at the restaurant where he works, while my BFFFFF and I enjoy a relaxing evening in our pyjamas – in fact, I have the most fabulous new pair for the occasion! – with wine, more chocolates than would strictly be advised and a marathon of holiday movies. There won’t be as much sparkle, it’s true, but it will still be fabulous. Le temps passe vite quand nous nous amusons – ou quand nous avons un boulot de folie. J’ai l’impression que ce fut hier que j’ai retrouvé Lyndi, Aleesha, Trina, Oz et Tarah pour une première fête de noël – un brunch glamour entre blogueuses. Selon moi, tout est mieux avec un peu de fantaisie. Je me suis éclatée en m’habillant tout en blanc le samedi matin afin de créer cette magnifique fête hivernal. Nous n’avons toujours pas de neige dehors, mais nous avions plein de jolis trucs blancs à l’intérieur ! En tout honnêteté, le jour de noël chez moi de ressemblera pas à ces photos. Pas du tout. (Ceci dit, j’avoue que d’après le nombre de cadeaux qui se trouvent en dessus de notre sapin de noël, nous serions très gâtés cette année.) Ian travail comme chef, comme vous savez déjà, et il va donc passer noël au boulot, a préparer un repas de fêtes pour les clients de son restaurant, pendant que mon BFFFFF et moi nous détendons chez moi en pyjama – en fait, j’ai un nouveau pyjama sublime pour le grand jour ! – avec du bon vin, plus de chocolat que nous avons vraiment besoin et une série de films de noël. Il n’y aura pas trop de paillettes, c’est vrai, mais c’est exactement le genre de fête que j’aime.
