I still remember the first time I received an invitation to breakfast at Tiffany’s. There’s nothing quite like the moment when an invitation with those three iconic words on it lands in your inbox. Tiffany & Co and Hawksworth Communications host an annual holiday breakfast at the Tiffany store on Burrard Street in Vancouver each year, and I always feel lucky to be on the guest list. If diamond’s are a girl’s best friend, then it truly is a morning spent in good company, sipping mimosas and nibbling on croissants (a la Audrey) while trying on the most extravagant diamonds. I admit that I’ve never been much of a diamond girl – my engagement ring, rather than a traditional diamond solitaire, is a green amethyst – but Tiffany and Co. has something for everyone. I fell in love with their Atlas collection a few years ago, and I would be only too happy to add the rose gold Atlas ring that I’m wearing in the fourth photo to my permanent jewelry collection… if only it were anywhere near in my budget. In my dreams I own the whole Atlas collection, but back here in reality, I relish the chance to try pieces from it once a year, and to put together an outfit that I think Audrey would be proud of for the occasion. Having one of my real best friends, Lyndi from Style Calling, along for the occasion, made what is already one of my favourite holiday events it that much better. For a long time Christmas wasn’t really my thing, but with every passing year, I find myself enjoying it a little bit more – after all, what’s not to love about thirty-one whole days when we have an excuse to celebrate! Whether it’s champagne or pyjama time, what’s your favourite way to embrace December festivities?
Je me rappelle toujours la première fois que j’ai reçu une invitation au petit déjeuner chez Tiffany’s. Recevoir une invitation avec ces quatre mots, rien ne ressemble. Chaque année, Tiffany & Co et Hawksworth Communications reçoivent des invités pour un brunch de Noël à la boutique Tiffany dans la rue Burrard à Vancouver. Depuis trois ans, j’ai la chance de figurer parmi la liste d’invités. Si vraiment un diamant peut-être la meilleure amie d’une fille, nous passons donc la matinée bien entourée, avec des mimosas et des croissants (tout comme Audrey Hepburn !) et l’essayage des bijoux somptueux. J’avoue que je ne suis pas vraiment genre diamant – ma bague de fiançailles n’est pas faite en diamant, mais en améthyste vert – mais chez Tiffany and Co, il y en a pour tous les goûts. Je suis tombée amoureuse de la collection Atlas il y a deux ans, et la bague Atlas que je porte sur la quatrième photo, j’en rêve… bien que son prix ne me soit pas du tout abordable. Dans mes rêves, ma boîte à bijoux contient toute la collection Atlas, mais en réalité, je savoure la chance de pouvoir les essayer une fois par an, et mettre une tenue dans le style d’Audrey Hepburn pour l’occasion. Le petit déjeuner chez Tiffany est sans doute l’un de mes événements préférés pendant les fêtes, mais que l’une de mes vraies meilleures amies, Lyndi de Style Calling, me joigne n’a servi qu’à l’améliorer. Pendant longtemps, je n’étais pas forcément convaincue de la magie de Noël, mais je l’apprécie un peu plus à chaque année – comment ne pas jouir de trente-et-deux jours de fête ! Si c’est de la champagne ou des heures passe en pyjama, comment saisissez-vous l’esprit des fêtes ?
