La Fondatrice

Coco & Vera started in my living room, at a little wall-mounted desk that later came loose and had to be removed. It seems funny to me to be called the founder of a website that is still run out of my apartment and the occasional coffee shop. But that’s exactly what poster for my meet the blogger event at Le Chateau this weekend said – Cee Fardoe, founder of Coco & Vera. And while it’s technically true, I’m still just a girl with a laptop, writing to you from her sofa and marvelling that so many of you are actually paying attention. Thank-you for that. Meet the blogger was a truly unique experience, something I absolutely never imagined I would have the chance to do and I have to admit that, although I’m not at all afraid speaking in public or meeting new people, I did have a little moment of what if no one comes?! panic right before the event got going. But in the end, everything worked out beautifully and I was really glad to have the opportunity to get reacquainted with Le Chateau, a store that whose collections I always covetted in my teenaged fashion dreams but that I’ve rarely been in since. Between their selection of leather boots – I may have already brought home two pairs – and cozy winter coats – because seriously, this black furry one is the coat of my dreams – I get the feeling that I’ll be back. Often.

J’ai lancé Coco & Vera dans mon salon, à un petit bureau monté sur le mur qui s’est détaché peu après et que nous avons donc enlevé. Je le trouve un peu drôle qu’on m’appelle la fondatrice d’un site web qui son siège dans mon appartement et parfois dans un café du quartier. Mais c’est exactement ça que les affiches pour l’événement Met the bloguer chez Le Chateau disaient – Cee Fardoe, fondatrice de Coco & Vera. Bien que techniquement vrai, je demeure une fille avec un ordinateur portable qui vous écrit depuis son canapé et qui reste un peu étonné que vous êtes tellement nombreuses à la lire. Je vous remercie. Meet the bloguée fut une expérience complètement unique, laquelle je n’ai jamais cru j’aurais la chance de vivre et, bien que l’idée de parler en public et de rencontrer des nouvelles personnes ne m’inquiète pas, j’avoue que j’ai eu un moment de panique quelques instants avant le commencement, genre et si personne ne vient?! Mais tout c’est bien passe et ça m’a fait très plaisir de me refamiliariser avec la marque Le Chateau. Adolescente, j’en rêvais, je convoitais tout mais depuis, je suis rarement entrée en boutique. Grâce à leur sélection de bottes en cuir – je me suis déjà offert deux paires – et leurs manteaux doux – celui-ci étant le manteau peluche de mes rêves – j’ai l’impression que j’y retournerai. Souvent.
