(Travel Diary) L’Hotel Biron et son jardin

July 16, 2013
“Think,” said the poet Rainer Maria Rilke, who lived briefly at the Hotel Biron in Paris and who introduced the magnificent eighteenth century manour to the sculptor Rodin, who made it his studio, his permanent home and a museum of his works, “of the world you carry within you.” The gardens of the Hotel Biron, which opened as the Musee Rodin in 1919, are one of my favourite places in Paris to just be – to sit, to watch, to contemplate. No matter where I go, I will always carry a little bit of it with me.
